Sweet Bonda

It is a sweet snack made in Maida or All Purpose Flour.It is a very easy recipe.By adding badam powder to it makes it as healthy snack.

Ingredients:
  • Maida or All Purpose Flour - 1 Cup
  • Sugar - 1 Cup
  • Salt - A Pinch
  • Cooking Soda Powder - A Pinch
  • Badam Powder - 1 Tablespoon(Optional)
  • Oil - To Deep Fry
Preparation:
  • Mix All things together except oil.
  • Mix well With water like Idly/Dosa Batter.
  • Heat oil in a pan and Put the batter into oil with the help of Spoon or by using hand and fry till golden brown.
  • Serve hot or cool.
  • You can keep this two days and use.

Ingredients:
  • Maida or All Purpose Flour - 1 Cup
  • Bengal Gram - 1 Cup
  • Jaggery - 1/2 Cup
  • Cardamom Powder - 1 Pinch
  • Salt - To Taste
  • Ghee or Oil - As Needed
  • Yellow Food Color - 1 Pinch(Optional)
Preparation:
  • Add Maida,salt,Food Color together.Food color is optional,if you dont want leave that and use.
  • Knead this flour as Chapathi batter and keep it aside for 4 Hours.
  • Pressure Cook Bengal gram and smashed it.
  • Add Jaggery to cooked bengal gram and stir in low flame till it get like a ball without water.
  • Make it cool and make like lemon size balls.
  • Take the maida batter and divide the batter into small balls.
  • Spread like chapathi and place besan gram ball into it and cover it with maida batter spread.
  • Again spread it without sweet balls comes out.
  • Heat one Teaspoon of Oil in Tawa and place the spread poli and cook in tawa till golden color.
  • Now Parupu Poli is ready to serve.

MILK HALWA

Ingredients:
  • Milk - 1 Litre
  • Sugar - 1 Cup
  • Ghee 2 Tablespoon
  • Lemon Juice - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Cardamom Powder - Pinch
  • Grated Badam - 1 Tablespoon
Preparation:
  • Boil 1/2 Litre of milk in a pan and pour lemon juice in it and filter it,Now fresh home made paneer is ready.
  • Boil Another 1/2 Litre of milk in another pan in low flame with stiring it till the amount becomes low.
  • Add Sugar and Cardamom Powder and stir well without the milk stick into the bottom of the pan.
  • Add fresh home made paneer and ghee into it and mix well.
  • Stir well without leaving hands till you get the consistency as shown in the Picture.
  • Garnish with Grated Badam.

Mango Fruit Kesari/Mampazha Kesari

Ingredients:
  • Rava - 1 Cup
  • Mango Fruit Paste - 1 Cup
  • Sugar - 2 Cup
  • Cardamom Powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Yellow Food Color - A Pinch
  • Salt - Pinch
  • Ghee - 1/4 Cup
  • Oil - 1/2 Cup
  • Fried Cashewnut and Raisins - 2 Tablespoon
Preparation:
  • Heat one Teaspoon of ghee in a pan and fry rava till it get hot,Dont make rava to change its color.
  • In another heat oil and ghee together,After it heat well add required water that is 1:2 ratio.
  • Add Food Color,Sugar,Salt,Mango Paste,Cardamom Powder and Mix well and boil it.
  • Then add roasted rava and mix well without lumps and close it lid and cook in low flame.
  • After 5 Minutes remove the lid and mix well and Garnish with fried Cashewnut and Raisins.

Ragi Puttu



RAGI PUTTU

Puttu is a traditional and healthy evening snack.Mostly puttu is made with rice flour.But i tried in Ragi flour.We can make the puttu in two types.Sweet puttu and kara puttu.This post gives you sweet puttu using jaggery. Give this healthy evening snack to your kids and enjoy......:)

INGREDIENTS:

  • Ragi Flour - 1 Cup
  • Ghee - 1 Teaspoon
  • Grated Coconut - 1 Cup
  • Grated Jaggery - 1/4 Cup
  • Salt - To Taste
PREPARATION:
  • Take a pan,heat one teaspoon of ghee and add ragi flour and fry till fine aroma comes out.
  • Keep aside and leave that flour till it become cool.
  • Boil half cup of water with little salt.
  • Sprinkle the water into the ragi flour and mix well.
  • Be careful while mix water,Because the ragi flour should be wet,not as full paste.
  • After add water also the flour should  be separate.
  • After made the flour wet,steam the flour in idly plate for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • After it cooked well add grated coconut,grated jaggery and mix well.
  • If you like add cashewnut and raisins also.
  • Serve hot.

Carrot Halwa



CARROT HALWA:

It is very simple and easy sweet recipes with healthy carrots.I love this carrot halwa.Do  prepare this carrot halwa and enjoy it....Send your feedback as your comments......:)


INGREDIENTS:

  • Carrot - 1 kg
  • Milk - 500 ml
  • Sugar - 1 Cup
  • Grated Badam and Cashewnut - 1/2 Cup
  • Guava - 1/4 Cup(Optional)
  • Salt - one pinch
  • Ghee - 1/2 Cup
  • Cardamon Powder - 2 Pinch
PREPARATION:
  • Grate the Carrots.
  • Take a pan,Boil milk and carrot together till the grated carrots cook well.
  • Add sugar,ghee,Cardamon Powder,Pinch Salt and mix well.
  • Stir well till you get the consistency.
  • Garnish with grated nuts.
  • Serve hot or keep it in refrigerator and Serve cool.

Rava Kesari

Hi Friends,

Rava Kesari,a traditional sweet.I prepared this for new year.Easy to prepare at any time.When urgently required to prepare when guest came,you all choose Rava Kesari to impress them.Happy Cooking.............:)Enjoy with this sweet....


Ingredients:

  • Rava - 1 Cup
  • Ghee - 1/4 Cup
  • Water - 2 Cup
  • Sugar - 1 Cup
  • Keasari Color - 2 Pinch(I used Lemon Yellow)
  • Cashewnut - 1 Teaspoon
  • Raisins - 1 Teaspoon
  • Cardamom Powder - 1 Pinch
  • Salt - 1 Pinch
Preparation:


  • Take a pan,Heat one teaspoon of ghee and fry rava in that ghee.The color should not turn.Make the rava warm.
  • Fry Cashewnut and raisin in ghee and keep aside.
  • Take a pan,heat remaining ghee,when heat fully(smoke should not come),pour water and boil.
  • Put sugar and kesari color and stir to make sugar dissolve.
  • When it starts boil add salt and cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Add roasted rava into it and mix well without lumps.
  • Close it with lid and cook for 5 minutes.
  • After 5 minutes take the lid and stir well and garnish with fried cashewnuts and raisins.
  • Serve hot.

Rose Syrup Pudding

So we start this year with a sweet............:)

I don't have much time prepare traditional sweets....So i prepared Rose Syrup Pudding and Rava Kesari......This post gives you Pudding and Rava kesari will be in next post...


Ingredients:

  • Chinagrass - 1 Cup
  • Rose Syrup - 2 Tablespoon
  • Milk - 1/4 Cup
  • Sugar - 1/2 Cup

Preparation:
  • Soak china grass for 10 minutes in water.
  • Take a Pan,heat soaked china grass and stir well.It will start melt,keep stirring.
  • After fully melts,add sugar,rose syrup and stir well.
  • After Sugar also melts,switch off the stove.
  • Add milk to it and stir well.
  • Filter this liquid.
  • Pour into a flat bowl to set.keep it in refridgerator for few hours.
  • It will set fully.Then cut into slices and serve.
  • Hope you all like,especially kids who like jelly sweets.

KAJU KATHLI


HI FRIENDS,

     The Sweet made of Cahewnuts and Easy to Prepare.Enjoy with this Sweet.


INGREDIENTS:
  • Cashewnuts - 1 Cup
  • Sugar - 1/2 Cup
  • Water - 1/4 Cup
  • Milk - 1 Tablespoon
  • Ghee - 1/2 Teaspoon

PREPARATION:

  • Grind the Cashewnuts into dry fine powder.
  • In a pan,Boil half cup Sugar with Quarter Cup of water till you get the String(Kambi patham in Tamil).
  • After getting the string,add Grinded Cashewnuts and Stir without lumps.
  • Add one Tablespoon of Milk to it.
  • Stir till the consistency turn into like chapathi dough.
  • Transfer the dough into a flat plate and Spread it evenly.
  • Then Cut it with knife into Diamond Shape.
  • Leave it for sometime to cool.
  • Now make that sliced into pieces.
  • Kaju kathli is ready now.

MODHAGAM

HI FRIENDS,

             Modhagam is vinayagar's favorite.Here i tell you the simple method of preparing modhagam.You can do this in your weekly pooja in your home.


INGREDIENTS:

IdlyRice - 1 cup
MoongDhall - 1/4 cup
Jeera - 1/4 teaspoon
Salt - a pinch
Sugar - 1/4 cup
Ghee - 1 teaspoon
Grated Coconut - 1/2 cup





PREPARATION:

  • Soak Idly rice for 4 hours.
  • Half cook the Moongdhall.
  • Grind the soaked rice,Not like idly batter little bit rough.
  • Heat a pan,Put ghee,it melts then add jeera,
  • Jeera spluttered add grinded rice,half cooked Moongdhall,Grated coconut,Sugar,Salt.
  • Mix well and get a good dough now.
  • Let it cool for a while.
  • Take a small ball size dough and make like modhagam as shown in the picture.
  • Make all the dough into modhagam.
  • Heat idly pan.Plates all the modhagam into idly plates.
  • Cook the modhagam in idly pan for 5 minutes.
  • Now Modhagam is ready to serve.

VATTAYAPPAM

HI FRIENDS,

              Today we are going for a yummy sweet dish named Vattayappam.It is kerala dish.You can have this without any side dish.It is a simple dish and a oil free recipe.

             Now we go for a preparation of Vattayappam.



INGREDIENTS:


  • Raw rice(pacharasi) - 2 cups
  • Dry yeast - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cooked rice - 1/2 cup
  • Grated coconut - 1 cup
  • Sugar - 1/4 cup
  • Cardamom - 2 pods
  • Ghee - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt
  • Raisins and Cashewnut as u need.



HOW TO PREPARE:

  • Wash and Soak the raw rice for four hours.
  • Take grated coconut i.e half the amount of raw rice.
  • Grind,washed and soaked raw rice,grated coconut,yeast,cooked rice,sugar,salt together.
  • Keep that batter aside to ferment for 8 hours.
  • Take a pan and put some ghee and fry both raisins and cashewnut and keep aside.
  • Take a vessel and grease it with ghee.
  • Then put the fried raisins and cashewnut in the bottom of the vessel then put the batter into it.
  • Steam this batter till cook.Check using knife soaked in water and insert into it.If it is not sticky then it is cooked.
  • Make a line around the vessel using knife and invert it into the plate and make it slice and Serve hot.

HINT:
  • If u do not want to make the full batter to steam then u can steam it by using idly plates.
  • Instead of Sugar,you can also use Jaggery.This also gives you yummy taste.
  • Instead of cardamom pods,you can also use cardamom powder.Grind cardamom with sugar to make powder.
